Bringing Brooches Back

One of my favorite bloggers and roll models in life, Sarah Vickers, recently shared her vintage brooch collection and how she incorporates them into her everyday outfits.  This especially inspired me as I love vintage items, and my mother has a wonderful collection of her own from when she was a little girl.  She told me she would pin them onto her cardigans and jackets.  Seeing this is also how Sarah wears hers, I too have begun incorporating them into my outfits.
My collection is small, but growing.  I love that my mother’s vintage pins started it, and I have been able to add two more to my collection from a local vintage shop.  I found the mouse pin surprisingly on Modcloth, and was very pleased with the vintage look it holds.  Although it’s not vintage, I thought it would be a nice addition.
I love the turquoise body of the turtle.

Pearls are always a perfect touch of elegance.

My very favorite brooch in honor of Jaycee.
Who doesn’t love a whale!
A foxy brooch.
Vintage brooches have become one of my latest obsessions, and I love collecting them.  My eyes are always on the lookout for adding more to my loot.  As Sarah Vickers says, “A brooch for every occasion” to help in “Bringing brooches back”.
Stay Tuned!

  2. My mom has a bunch of brooches too that were handed down from my grandmother. It's funny to see how things come back into style 🙂 Love the little puppy!

  3. I love brooches but never think of wearing them. I have a cute gold mouse my mother bought me when I was little. I'm going to pull it out. I love your whale brooch. He's my favorite. A happy little fellow!
