The Art Box

I am in no way an artist nor am I that talented with art.  I simply enjoy being creative.  After I began to experiment with art, I slowly developed a need for a way to organize and store my art supplies.  Hobby Lobby has become one of my favorite places to spend some time after a long day of school and work.  I love the smells of Hobby Lobby as it always reminds me of the upcoming season.  For instance, as soon as I walk through the doors and see the fall displays, that certain hobby lobby smell reminds me of fall.  I get so excited.
As I was saying, I have created an art box for myself to store the supplies in.  It’s nothing fancy, but it is cute and makes me happy every time I open it.  So without further adieu, here is what’s in my art box!
As I said, the box is simple, nothing fancy, just pink and spacious.  I like that is has a lid.
I always have a few small canvases readily on hand.  You never know when you will come up with a creative idea or have someone that needs to be cheered up with a cute painting.
I keep a collection of old Lilly Agendas in my box.  Working at The White Crane, we have several old agendas from the previous year that did not sell…that means Lilly crafting galore!
My paint collection is small but consists of my favorite colors.  I always keep these on hand.  Since paint can get so expensive and with Hobby Lobby being literally five minutes away from me, I only keep my favorite colors in the box and take a trip to Hobby Lobby anytime I need more.  And I can’t forget the paint brushes.  They are always in my box.
A collection of ribbon can be found in my box as well.  Whether it’s adding a ribbon touch to some Lilly binders or making Jaycee some new hair bows, I love my ribbon.
I always have a glue gun or two in my box.  I use a glue gun for everything.  It’s better to have an extra because crafting is so much more fun with friends.
My art box is everything I need to be creative.  My excitement with crafting, especially with the upcoming holidays, is growing, so I may eventually need a larger box.
Do you keep an art box on hand for when you’re feeling creative?

  1. Thanks to being in a sorority (Alpha Delta Pi), I have a ton of craft supplies crowding my room. My school is in the craziness of rush right now and with Bid Night next week, then receiving my little the week after, the amount of crafting supplies I have in my room right now is crazy. Thank you for this post! Next time I go to Michael's, I will certainly be getting a cute box like the one you got to keep everything in!

Also, keeping your old Lilly agendas is such a good idea! This post was just so useful!
