A Few Thoughts…

Happy Tuesday, Friends!  Yes, I know I mention the First5 App every week, it seems like.  But this week I’m even more excited about it because I ordered the study guide to this month’s study, and it came in the mail last week.  This month is the study of Genesis (this week starts the second week, so jump right in, if you haven’t yet!).  As I’ve said, I have so enjoyed this app, and I can promise that you will too.  It has been so meaningful to engage in the material with so many others who are doing the same study, and it’s so cool to read the comments of others and hear how they are relating the same study to their lives.  I highly encourage you to purchase the guide, because it allows you to take the passages studied each day a step further and relate the material back to your life in a more personal way.  And the “weekend wrap-ups” are my favorite as (each Saturday) the First5 team pulls the whole week of studies together.  So, download this app now, if you haven’t already 🙂
Over the weekend, I was thumbing through one of the journals I’ve kept.  This quote from Stormie Omartian has stuck in my head ever since:
“It is a more certain proposition to follow the Lord, not knowing where you are going, than to think you know where you are going and you’re not following the Lord.”
Do you ever just feel like you’re walking with a blindfold on?  I do so many times.  I feel like so much in life is “taking a leap of faith.”  But honestly, that’s more scary than it sounds!  But this quote was a reminder to rest and know that as you follow the Lord, you can allow Him to be that light you need in the darkness.  Lysa TerKeurst, president of the Proverbs 31 Ministries, brought out such an encouraging point in this past weekend’s wrap-up.  As I mentioned, the study for this month is on the book of Genesis.  She brought up how this book sets the stage for the entire Bible and how incredible it is to know that God had a plan from the very beginning.  So as she said, I say it too…rest assured, friends, that He has had a plan for you all along as well, and He will carry this through.
Delightfully Yours,
