In The Midst of Change

Hello Friends and happy Tuesday!  The seasons are about to change again.  Although I’m not a fan of the pollen, I do love spring and am so excited for its arrival. Speaking of change, I know I have written quite a few posts of change in the past.  It’s something that we all deal with at some time or another.  Sometimes, it’s gladly welcomed, and at others we feel like we’ve been hit with it out of nowhere!  I think it’s safe to say that we have all experienced both types of change.  When we experience change that is welcomed in our lives, most likely the change is going along with how we had hoped for things to go. The change that hits us blindsided is a bit more (okay maybe much more) difficult to cope with.  As I said, I’ve posted about about change more than once on here, but my goal is to help encourage you through whatever change you may be experiencing.

(A photo I snapped the other day)

When I’ve experienced change that was unexpected and maybe even terrifying at times, I usually try to run to someone that I can trust.  I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but even though whomever this may be is always there to listen and understand, I soon remember that there is someone who I can pour my heart out to even more.  There is someone who, even in the midst of any change, is still the same.  This someone who I am talking about is God.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Can you possibly think of anything more comforting?  I certainly can’t, and I am so thankful that I personally know my Savior that, even in the midst of a lot of change in my life, never changes.  He is always there.  And even though we may feel as if we am walking through a dark tunnel, He is there shining as our light in the darkness.  How can we follow this light?  The answer is to simply trust in Him, spend time in prayer and delve into His Word.  I can say from personal experience, the closer I have come to know God in my walk with Him, the more I can see His light in any situation. Whenever I’ve dealt with change that feels like my whole world has been shaken up, I know who I can turn to, and He will never change.
The next thing I do when unexpected change enter into my life is to remember where it came from.  Now if God is the same yesterday, today and forever…if God loves us so much that He gave His one and only Son to die for us…if God has overcome the world, we know that we can trust in Him for whatever change we are experiencing.  Because overall, He is in the midst of painting a beautiful picture in your life.  So many times we can become stuck on whatever is going on currently, and we then base our entire lives off of what’s currently going on.  But we must remember that in the midst of this change, God is working something beautiful in your life for your good and His glory! God promises that He knows the plans He has for you as they are to prosper you and not to harm you…they are plans to give you hope and a future.  So next time you are in the midst of any change, remember that the change is simply a brush stroke of the beautiful painting God is working on for your life.  Trust, trust, trust in Him!
Lastly, I just want to give a little personal statement.  As I have experienced a lot of change in my life over the past year or so, I just want to say that God surely did know what He was doing in my life.  Although things still may seem like a blur at times, I am seeing plans unfold.  I am seeing how one thing has worked out to the next thing, and everything has been for my good and God’s glory!  It is amazing to watch the Lord’s work (and change) that may seem uncomfortable at first and you may try to run, hide, move out of it’s way.  But as time goes on, I continue to see how the Lord has been and is working in my life.  Whenever I feel confused by change, I simply say “Lord, I trust in You! I am excited to see what You have in store for me. Thank you for your protection over my life.”
Friends, He is the same yesterday, today and forever!  Lean on Him and allow Him to lead you, even in the midst of change.
Delightfully Yours,
