Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving today! I’m excited to be spending it in Williamsburg, Virginia with my family. I’m so thankful to be here and have this day with them. Something else I’m thankful for is that even though it didn’t stick, it snowed last night! The snow lasted for just a few short minutes, but it was very exciting to a person who hasn’t seen snow in three years.
Here’s a cute way to dress turkey’s these days!
Even though I’m not home and can’t make pies for Thanksgiving, these are still on my list to make. You can be so creative with pies! Did you get festive with pie making this year?
Now, every year, I like to list a few things I’m thankful for. The difficult part about this is most definitely keeping my list to a “few” things. There is truly so much to be thankful for. It is so easy to become discouraged with the happenings and stress life can bring about. Even though what there is to be thankful for greatly outweighs the annoying little things we may not be thankful for, the “thankful for” list can be easily overlooked on an everyday basis. I feel like I’m at a time in my life where everything is a test. It seems to be a time where not only decisions play a huge role, but also where the test of “if I can do it” comes into play quite often. Well, even though things don’t always go the way I’d want them to, I am thankful for the lessons I’ve learn from them and the ways I’ve grown.
When I look back on myself this time last year, so much has changed. Last year, I never imagined the way things would be this year. But then again, I’m thankful as I know the Lord works in our lives and has everything happen for a reason.
Now, let me try to list a few things that I’m so thankful for. My family, of course. has been here for me with everything. That is why they fall at the top of my list. My Mama is always something to be most thankful for. As I’ve grown older, I not only see the guidance I have in her, but also the forever friend she is. I’m thankful for my Jaycee. Even though she can’t talk, I most definitely talk to her and she always seems to understand. I’m so thankful for my friends…not only the ones who always stand by me, but also for the many new friendships I’ve made this year. I’m thankful for the opportunities that have come about this year. One, my job at The White Crane is something I love, which is so important. After school, I know that I can actually look forward to going into work and seeing people that make me smile. I’m so thankful for my blog and every single one of my readers who take the time to visit it. This is something I started to simply share my thoughts and ideas…a fun pastime. Since it is just over a year old, this year has brought about so many opportunities that I’m so thankful for. I’m thankful for all of the valuable lessons I’ve learned this year and the ways that I have been able to grow as a person. This list could go on and on, so I better stop here and just say…I’m thankful.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
{Psalm 107:1}
