Why You Should Shop The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale + A Sneak Peek

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today’s post is a very exciting one! Who else is eager for the start of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017?! I’m just about to burst with excitement and am eager to get my hands on some brand spankin’ new fall pieces for a discounted price. Just in case you’re new to shopping this sale, allow me to list a few details you may want to know below. I can truly honestly say that this has to be the most exciting sale of the entire year. It’s one of a kind and one you certainly don’t want to miss! Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happens once a year to welcome the arrival of the new fall collections. For me personally, it always kick starts my excitement for fall. Okay I know that it’s only July, but it is always best to buy these pieces now and save them for later. Why? Because these brand new fall arrivals are marked down especially for this sale, and prices go back up to full price in August. The deals are amazing! Many designers we know and love participate in this sale. For example, you will see Tory Burch, Kendra Scott, Lagos, Stuart Weitzman, Kate Spade, Burberry and much more! You will also see amazing deals on baby gear from high end brands. 

 Why Should I Shop The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

As I was saying, this is an excellent opportunity to buy up many fall staples for the entire family at a discounted price. This sale allows you to start shopping for fall early and save a bunch of money in the long run. Imagine this: Instead of having to wait months after the new arrivals hit the store to get them on sale, they start off on sale and go back up to full price a few weeks from now. It truly is a “one of a kind sale” that will allow you to jump on your fall wardrobe early while saving a ton of money. 

Can anyone shop the sale on Thursday?

Yes, the sale begins this Thursday, July 13th, but it is only available to Nordstrom cardholders for the first week. This timeframe is called “early access” which runs from July 13-20. On the 21st, the sale opens up to everyone! Nordstrom usually re-stocks a lot of items once the sale opens to the public, but many of the good items are gone during the early access. So, I highly recommend becoming a Nordstrom cardholder! I absolutely love having a Nordstrom card as there are so many perks that come along with it (hello, Nordy Notes!). Not to mention, shopping at Nordstrom is always a great experience with amazing customer service. So, having a card it a great idea, if you ask me. I remember when I opened my card, I was approved pretty much instantly and even though I didn’t have my card in hand, I was still able to shop it online. So, if you’re not yet a Nordstrom cardholder and would like to become one to shop the sale on Thursday, you can sign up here! 

How should I prepare to shop the sale?

For shopping this sale, I highly recommend thinking about what you’re wanting for the upcoming season. For me personally, I always like to grab up a new designer bag on sale, some booties, a good pair of designer jeans, lots of transitional pieces (that can be worn with a cardigan in the fall), a few sweaters and more. I also love to check out the beauty deals as it is a great time to test out new products I wouldn’t normally buy at a regular price. So, make a list. Look through your closet. Think about pieces you’re needing to replace this year. Ask yourself if there’s a splurge item you’ve been wanting to treat yourself to. And make a list for the whole family! Figure out what the kiddos need for fall. Ask the hubby if he needs some new things for fall. Even look at your home needs as there are many house hold items included in the sale. Ahh I could go on and on…it’s just that good 🙂

And now…are y’all ready for the most exciting part?! Below I’m sharing a sneak peek at a few items I’m eyeing in the 2017 Anniversary Sale!!! I can’t express just how good this sale is going to be! That Tory Burch watch is definitely on my list 🙂 I have always wanted a wrap watch. As you can see, the discounted prices are amazing!

So to wrap things up…GET EXCITED! Shopping this sale is simply a tradition for me and my Mama (and now Madeline too…we’re training her early haha). We have been loving and shopping this sale for years and years, even before I started blogging about it. When the early access begins, we always plan a girl’s trip to our closest Nordstrom store to shop the sale. I love shopping online, and you can either pick it up in the store or have it shipped to you. I also like to shop it in person because there are things I tend to miss online that I end up loving in person. So be sure to follow along on our adventures via my Instagram!
