One of our favorite things about our beach days was having our lunches on the beach. I had purchased this
fold-up table, and it truly ended up being the best little beach accessory! We used it every single beach day, whether is was for lunch or snacks. Having our little beach set-up was such a bright spot in our beach days. I also wanted to share some of our favorite beach lunches and snacks. We also love to make these on the regular at home or take to the pool.
Lunch Ideas
Ham or Turkey Sandwiches: Madeline loves a good ham sandwich. If you have a Publix or someone that sells Boa’s Head products nearby, the Salsalito turkey breast is amazing!! And
this spread makes a sandwich so good. Madeline especially LOVES making little sandwich sliders with the
King’s Hawaiian Rolls.
Pinwheels: You can do ham, turkey, Mexican style, so many options!
Salad: I used
this container which is awesome for salads! You can put all the toppings + dressing in the top compartment and pour it all in once you’re ready to eat. I loved doing a Mexican style salad with spinach, black beans, street corn, grilled chicken, avocados and salsa (top it off with some crushed tortilla chips).
Macaroni: Nothing mind-blowing here haha, but Madeline loves her macaroni. and with
this lunch container, it worked out great to take her macaroni with grapes and carrots for the side.
Cheese Quesadillas: Madeline and I both love these! I like to do whole wheat tortillas and sometimes I’ll add chicken to mine. Of course we take some chips and salsa with us (
this container again works great for chips & salsa).
Ham, Turkey or Chicken Wraps: We loved doing the same sandwich ideas above but instead doing them on whole wheat wraps. Madeline loves these as well!
Cucumber or Tomato Sandwiches: We LOVE cucumbers (especially Madeline). I would make sandwiches (or wraps) with some dill spread. I love the
dill dip by Marzetti OR try
this recipe that’s SO easy and yummy. And you can even do this with adding some bacon for a BLT or BLTC (bacon, lettuce, tomato and cucumber).
Cheese & Meat Kabobs: This is especially fun for kids. Grab a pack of skewers and add some cheese cubes, ham and/or turkey and grapes onto them for an easy beach lunch or snack.
Beach Snacks
Granola: I’ve recently gotten hooked on
Safe + Fair Granola. It’s sooo yummy! Some days I’d take it down to the beach with a cup of Greek vanilla yogurt.
Mixed Fruit: This is a Madeline favorite for sure. But there’s seriously nothing better than fresh fruit on a hot summer day. Ours usually consists of cantaloup, grapes (if you haven’t tried cotton candy grapes, you’re missing out!), watermelon, strawberries and pineapple.
Chex Mix: Can’t go wrong with check mix for the perfect beach snack!
Graham Crackers + Yogurt: This is one of my favorite healthier sweet snacks. I love to spread (or dip when taking to the beach) graham crackers in Greek vanilla yogurt. Then top with some chocolate chips or fruit.
Veggie or Apple Cinnamon Straws: I discovered these when we were at the beach, and goodness they are so yummy! Another great beach snack.
Veggies + Ranch or Humus: Madeline especially loves cucumbers and carrots. She likes to dip them in ranch. If I’m wanting something a little lower in calorie count, I love a balsamic to dip them in. My very favorite veggie dip however is humus! Veggies + Humus makes a great snack for the beach.
Our Food Containers: Triple layer Snack Container (this thing is so awesome! Also has a divider for one of the layers which was great for putting dip or yogurt in. The bottom layer can hold a wrap or a sandwich sliced). //
Salad Divider Container (also works great for chips and salsa) //
Lunchbox (perfect for kids lunches).
Do you have a favorite beach lunch or snack to add to the list?
