Hello friends and happy (official) first day of summer! If you’re a Lilly lover like myself, then you know today is more importantly known as National Wear Your Lilly Day! To start things off, here’s a little look back at my NWYLD looks over the past few years. 2013, 2014, 2016 (Madeline’s first NWYLD where she was big enough to wear Lilly) and 2017. I always get such a kick out of seeing blog posts from my earlier blogging days haha, but I thought it would be fun to share 🙂
As I mentioned in my post earlier this week, I have always had a deep love for Lilly. If you’ve been following me from the beginning, you know that my blog was originally “A Preppy State of Mind” which was based off one of my all time favorite Lilly prints, the “State of Mind Patch” that debuted in spring of 2012. Although I rebranded to Something Delightful in 2015 to better fit the ways in which my life had evolved (and what I was then blogging about), my love for Lilly has remained the same. Why do I love Lilly so much? Well, for me it never fails to put a smile on my face. Whether I’m looking through my older pieces or browsing the newer prints, I always feel excited. I feel like wearing Lilly brings out your personality and allows you to stand out. Lilly is most definitely a “feel good” brand with the bright colors, fun prints and unique styles. Fun fact: My Mama used to dress me in Lilly all the time when I was little, and I hated it!! Luckily, she saved most of those pieces for me, and now I look at them and can’t believe that there was a day when I actually din’t want to wear Lilly.
Now for a little about our NWYLD looks for 2018. I have to say that this seersucker Lilly look is quite possibly my all time favorite Lilly look as well as my very favorite mommy and me look ever! I first fell in love with the Devina dress a little over a month ago when I wore it on Mother’s Day (see the post here). There’s just something about this dress that makes it absolute perfection! The ruffle sleeves are so different from the usual Lilly silhouette, and I absolutely love it. When I saw that it most recently came out in a pink seersucker, my jaw pretty much dropped. I knew right away that this dress most definitely had to be mine. I then saw that there was a pink seersucker dress for Madeline. I had yet to purchase the Girls Kinley Dress for her, and absolutely love it. Madeline kept wanting to twirl in it 🙂 I think these two dresses make the sweetest mommy and me duo. There are certain pieces of clothing that just make you feel good inside and that is what this ruffle sleeve, pink seersucker dress does for me. P.S. I’m wearing the size 0 in my dress, and Madeline is wearing the 3T in hers for sizing reference.
If you’re celebrating the first day of summer in Lilly, I’d LOVE to see your look! If you want to share, please DM them to me via Instagram. I can’t wait and hope that I get to see some of y’alls Lilly looks 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Delightfully Yours
