Hello friends and happy Friday 🙂 To say I’m excited for today’s post would be an understatement haha! It’s no secret that I love leopard! It’s most definitely my favorite print, and Madeline and I wear to pretty often. If you follow me on Instagram and tune into my try-ons, you will especially see it a lot! There are so many different variations of leopard, which is another reason why this print is just so fun.
With Halloween being just under two weeks away, I wanted to share a fun, easy and affordable DIY costume idea with y’all. This isn’t what we’re actually being for Halloween, but goodness was this fun to put together! Not only did we have the opportunity to get dressed up to share with y’all, but we actually ended up getting to attend an early Halloween extravaganza (and went to surprise some of our family members in these costumes), making the whole experience extra fun.
Anyways, if you’re in need of a last minute, easy, affordable DIY costume idea, I think leopard is such a fun option! You can do our entire costumes (not including the booties haha) for under $100 together. The other great part is that pretty much everything included in our costumes (even the makeup) is all available via Prime! I will walk y’all through the makeup I used for each part of our face below, but just trust me when I say it’s SO easy! Mine took me no longer that twenty minutes and Madeline’s took less than ten (I didn’t do as much to her eyes). Overall, it was SO fun to do 🙂
Makeup

As for the makeup, after I did my foundation, concealer and all that good stuff, I started with my eyes. I used this bronzed/golden eyeshadow palette for my lids/creases and also just to go over the brows (this palette is pretty much all I used on Madeline’s eyes and brows, along with a tiny bit of mascara for her). For the rest of my eyes, I used this liquid eyeliner (my go-to) to do my winged liner and used this white liquid eyeliner for my waterline. I also used these Ardell lashes (and I use this glue) to make the look even more dramatic.
After eyes, I heavily bronzed us all over! I grabbed this bronzer in “medium” off Amazon (decided to go a little darker) just to bronze it out even more. With a leopard having an orange tone, you definitely want to heavily bronze. I actually ended up loving this bronzer! I also went a little heavier on the highlighter.
Next, I moved on to the spots on our forehead. For these, I used this liquid eye liner and basically does little C’s in all different directions. You want a find point liner to do this! And be sure to let that dry for a few minutes! And for the metallic gold, I simply used this lipgloss to dab into the center of the spots. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this worked and how long this lasted. I was worried (especially with Madeline) that the gloss would smear, but it ended up drying and working out perfectly (just don’t apply it too thick).
After spots, I moved on to our noses! I purchased this angled liner as it made the whole process of attempting to draw a heart-shaped nose SO much easier! It ended up working out very well. I also used this liner to color in the line connecting our noses to the upper lip area. This same liner is the one I used to draw our whiskers and the little dots in front of them.
Last part, the lips! I have to say this was the hardest with Madeline as it was a challenge keeping her from talking and giggling while waiting for them to dry haha. But definitely get a liquid lipstick for the lips that will dry! I ended up grabbing this liquid black lipstick for the upper lip. And for the bottom, I used one from this set (second over from right) by Anastasia Beverly Hills. You could also just use any gold or iridescent type color, like this one here! Be sure to top the whole look off with a setting spray!
And there you have it!!! An easy, cute and oh-so-fun DIY leopard look!
If you decide to try it out, please share with me via Instagram (@racheltimmerman)! I would love to see 🙂
Hope y’all have a fantastic Friday!
Delightfully Yours,
