Happy Thursday, y’all! Today I want to share a little something that I’ve been thinking about with some of the Scripture I’ve been studying recently…an idea I’ve been thinking about with several verses I’ve been memorizing.
I so many times say “It’s the little things that count.” I find that so true, in people’s actions all the way down to the details on a shirt. I believe it’s the little things that make our world go round. For example, Madeline’s smile can change my mood instantly. Her smile is so innocent and simple, yet it’s huge in my eyes. I think about how big our God is. “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure” (Psalm 147:5). As I think about how great God is, I see his greatness displayed in so many little things.
Take Luke 12:7 and Matthew 10:29-31, for example, God knows every little detail about you…even the number of hairs on your head. Wow…that’s huge! And isn’t it a comfort to know that if God cares about such a tiny bird (the sparrow) imagine how much He cares for you and me. I also think about Psalm 139:17-18. God’s thoughts would outnumber the grains of sand. Imagine when you’re at the beach and looking at the sand all around you…that’s just part of the sand in all the world, and God’s thoughts would outnumber all of that. Another verse I think of is Matthew 17:20. Think about how teeny tiny a mustard seed is. If it is cared for correctly, it will grow into a tree. Faith is the same way. It starts off small and when nurtured each day (spending time with God), it can grow into something much larger than ever imagined. Lastly, I think of Jeremiah 1:5. Before God ever formed us in our mother’s womb, He knew us. Think of how small yet how amazing that is.
So if you’re ever feeling anxious over an event in your life, know that it’s just a small portion of what God has planned for you, that is so much bigger than you could ever imagine. We never know how God will use that small element to strengthen our hearts in preparation for something much larger. How delightful that is! So, don’t fear, God’s got this 🙂
Delightfully Yours,
