Recent Ulta Purchases I’m Loving!
Hello friends and happy Wednesday! I hope y’all are having a great week so far. About a week and a half ago, I had to run to Ulta. I needed to stock up on a few products and was looking for a few new ones to try out as well. It’s very rare that I come out loving every single product I picked up. I was looking for a new primer, something to brighten my under eyes more, a new concealer, etc. What I didn’t know is that I would come out with several products that are huge money savers! Y’all, I’m SO excited! I have been using these products for about a week and a half now, and I’m still absolutely loving them. An Ulta run this successful calls for a blog post 🙂
as I mentioned, I was on the hunt for a new primer. My skin type is more on the dry side. I was tired of my primer making my face feel dried out, and overall my foundation wouldn’t apply as smoothly as I had wanted it to. This primer is amazing, if you have a dry skin type! This stuff on top of your favorite moisturizer is more than enough to combat dry skin! My face looks so much more replenished with this primer, and my foundation applies much more smoothly. I highly recommend this stuff!
I wasn’t exactly on the hunt for a new foundation. I’ve been using the Estee Lauder Double Wear for years. I love it but was running out, and my Ulta doesn’t carry Estee Lauder. I was completely out, so I didn’t have time to order it and really didn’t want to run to both Ulta and Sephora haha.
I had heard that the Ultra Wear is very comparable to the Double Wear. I had actually tried it out once before but got matched up to the incorrect color. I decided to get matched up again, and I love it!! I can barely tell the difference between the two. Honestly, I think the Double Wear dries out my skin a little more and makes me look a little more cakey. What I love about the Ultra Wear is that it offers amazing coverage, which is a requirement for my foundation. It also does not wear off the tip of my nose by the end of the day haha, which is a problem I’ve had with so many formulas. I highly recommend this foundation, especially if you want amazing coverage. It also has SPF 15. I got matched up to the color 215 Buff.
Okay I had heard soooo many great things about this product and had always wanted to try it out. I was tired of using the same concealer for both under my eyes and on the other parts of my face. I wanted something that offered more coverage under my eyes, overall brightening things up more. I needed something with a thicker consistency, overall. Y’all, this stuff most definitely does the trick!!! It offers amazing coverage and does an amazing job brightening up my under eyes! I went with the shade Light Fair because I really wanted to brighten things up!
If you love the Ultra Wear foundation, you’ll love this concealer!!! I wasn’t happy with the concealer I had been using for the other parts of my face (my t-zone, blemishes, etc.). Since I had heard so many great things about the Ultra Wear foundation, I decided to give this one a try as well. I absolutely love it! It’s a thicker consistency than the one I had been using, but not too thick. I got matched up to the color 90 Ivoire.
Okay y’all, now for the purchase I am most excited about!!! This one is going to be such a huge money saver for me! I have been using a translucent powder for years. I bake with it to set my under eyes and a few other parts of my face. There’s so much neat stuff you can do with a translucent powder. I had been using the Laura Mercier translucent powder and then decided to try the one by Lancome (it’s a few dollars less and again, I didn’t want to go to both Ultra and Sephora in one day haha). But now, I’ve found something that’s sooo much cheeper, and I can hardly tell the difference. The Laura Mercier powder is $39. The Lancome is $37. I go through one about every two months or so. Okay, are y’all ready for this?! The Fit Me Loose Powder is 7.99!!!! YES, 7.99! Even though it’s not as large of a container as the Laura Mercier or Lancome (not too much of a difference, though), the price is SO much better! I went with the color fair, and again, I pretty much can’t even tell a difference between the three powders. I’m hooked and SO excited for this find! No more spending almost $40 on a powder for me. I’m going to stock up on this powder, because it’s such a game changer.
I was running out of some of my favorite warm, neutral eyeshadows. However, I was looking for a palette that wasn’t crazy expensive. This one caught my eye, and I thought the colors were so pretty! Everything I look for with a warm, neutral palette. “Bronzed Babe” is such a perfect name for this one! I had never tried this brand before, and had no idea how I’d like the shadows, but y’all, I’m SO pleased! And for 12.99? Yes, please! I use “sunnies” below my brows, “vacay” on my lids, “beach please” in the creases and “midnight dip” in the corners. Blend them all together and you’ll have a gorgeous warm, neutrals look! This palette was also just re-stocked online, so grab one up while you can!
This wasn’t a new product for me, but instead a re-stock. I use these every single day, just to add a hint of sparkle! I was running out of one of my favorites, “Smoky Storm”, so I got another one. I also love “Kitten Karma” and “Smoldering Satin” 🙂
Here’s another product that is a huge money saver for me. I’m So obsessed with this stuff and it works wonders! I love using a good bit of highlighter. When it comes to highlighting, I go all the way! I was running out of my favorite liquid highlighter by YSL (around $40). I was about to try out a different liquid highlighter when someone at Ultra recommended this stuff to my. I had been using both a liquid highlighter then going back on top of it with a regular highlighter. This stuff is almost like a highlighter primer for me haha. It’s SO silky smooth! It applies so easily. I use it before using my regular highlighter. It works wonders! I got it in the color “flexitarian”. It’s only $8!
I saw this highlighter glow kit and instantly fell in love with it! I had been using a highlighter by Becca, but was feeling it was too pink for me. One Becca highlighter is the price of this entire glow kit that has four highlighters about the same size as one Becca! I’m obsessed! I pretty much love all four highlighters. They’re smooth and add the prettiest glow. I highly recommend this glow kit!
Lastly are two more products that are re-stocks for me. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I only use Bumble & Bumble products! My hair guy introduced me to them when I first started going to him (almost three years ago) and have been hooked every since! I have found about eight products from their line that work wonders for my hair! I’ve figured out what to mix with what that makes my hair style so much better and hold it! I have a super fine hair texture and need to help. Their thickening line is just about the best thing ever!!! The thickening mouse has worked wonders for my fine hair. I apply it to my roots before trying my hair and it works wonders, adding so much body! I also spray the thickening spray all over my hair before adding the mouse, which also helps SO much with thickening. After I’ve styled my hair, I use the dryspun finish spray. I can’t do without this stuff! It simply works wonders and also smells amazing 🙂 Also, I was reading reviews on the thickening mouse and noticed people saying they had changed the formula and it does not work the same. I haven’t noticed this? It still works so well for me, but I’m going to pay closer attention now that I’ve read this. It’s still a must-have for me!
I hope y’all enjoyed this little Ultra haul! If you’ve tried or end up trying any of these products, please let me know! I’d love to hear what you think 🙂
Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping by!
