“Time flies when you’re having fun.” “Cherish each moment. They grown up so quickly!” Both of these sayings I’ve heard from other moms countless times. It wasn’t until Madeline was born that I suddenly realized how true they are. I honestly feel like I’ve blinked and she is now a little girl. Where has the time gone?! I cannot believe my baby girl is turning three today. In honor of her birthday, I thought I’d share these pictures of my beautiful, happy girl. I hope these put a smile on your face as they did mine 🙂 This girl is pure joy! Absolute pure joy. Although being a mama is the most difficult job there is, it is overall joy. And that is the number one word that I can think of when describing my life through being Madeline’s mama.
As I’ve done on her past birthdays, I also want to share a little note for Madeline on here:
Dearest Madeline, what an honor it is to be your mama. Watching you grow has been the most amazing experience of a lifetime. Being your mama is my favorite part of life. I hope you know that you bring me so much joy, more than enough to last a lifetime. Your smile that can brighten up a room, that twinkle in your “sapphire eyes” and your contagious laugh make the world such a happier place. Our little adventures in life are what I look forward to every single day.
I am so very proud of you. Watching you grow and learn about the world around you is such an amazing thing to experience. You are so smart and never stop asking questions. You are learning like the speed of light and absolutely amaze me with all you know and understand. I love how you love so many things. From dinosaurs and basketball to baby dolls and princesses to playing doctor and nurse, life with you is never ever boring. I love your tender heart. Hearing you say “I love you, Mama” out of the blue warms my heart like nothing else. Your care and compassion for the around you and every single animal you see, especially “Your puppy Jaycee”, shows me what a tender heart you have. Watching your love for Jesus grow as you are understanding so much more makes me happier than anything else ever could. When you see a firetruck or ambulance going down the down and instantly remind me that we need to pray for the person in trouble is an example to me of how awesome our God is. I truly believe that when you plant a seed of faith and nourish it everyday with God’s Word and inviting Him into every aspect of life (such as a firetruck driving down the road), you will begin to see Him in so many marvelous ways. That, Madeline, is what I’m already seeing you, and it makes me so very happy.
But most of all, as you learn, you are constantly teaching me new things each and every day. I learn more from you than anything or anyone else has ever taught me. Not only do I learn all sorts of new things about dinosaurs, but you also most importantly teach me to cherish the little things in life. With you, I am constantly reminded to slow down and enjoy every little moment. You have taught me the importance of true love. Through you, I see the Lord’s love and mercy as I never have before. I can only imagine what I will learn from you this next year.
As we celebrate you turning three on this Easter Sunday, it is such a reason to rejoice. You made are the very best thing that has ever happened to me. You have made me a better person and have taught me what true love really is. I am just so very proud of you and so thankful that I God gave to me the honor of being your Mama. Never loose that sparkle in your eye. Never loose your desire to learn. Never loose your strong will and sass. And most importantly, never doubt what amazing things the Lord can do in your life, especially when you’re least expecting it. Always hold on to Psalm 27:1. Always remember the Lord’s love for you. And also, always know that your Mama is so very proud of you and loves you more than you’ll ever know.
Happy third birthday, my darling Madeline!
Love, Mama
