Mommy & Me Lilly Pulitzer Look, Tips & Tricks for shopping the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale & $100 Lilly Giveaway!
Hello friends and happy Friday! I know that I’ve been in full on fall mode recently, sharing so many looks to get us ready for fall. But today, I’m bringing back the summer vibes for a very special reason. If you’re a fellow Lilly lover like I am, then I have the very best news for you! The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale begins this coming Monday, September 10th, at 8 AM EST. All I can say is GET EXCITED! The sale gets better and better every year. There are sure to be some amazing pieces included. Today I’m sharing a mommy and me Lilly look that is going to be included in the APS (I’ll share how I know below), my favorite tips and tricks for shopping the sale, and at the very end of the post, I’m giving away a $100 Lilly e-gift card to one lucky winner 🙂
What is the Lilly Pulitzer APS, you may ask? Well if you’re new to shopping this sale, it is an opportunity to buy up Lilly pieces at an AMAZING price for both women and kids. Pieces are usually 50% off and sometimes even more than that. Lilly does not run sales regularly throughout the year as they save up for this huge celebration of a sale. They always have one at the end of summer and one usually in January. But the summer sale is always the very best! Shift dresses are always under $100, many under $70. There is always a great selection of cardigans (some cashmere) for fall. There will be tops, shorts, bottoms, everything! ANDD of course there will be Lilly for girls so you can twin with your mini. There’s just something about wearing Lilly that makes you feel happy. I have so many memories wearing it when I was little. My Mama would dress my sister and I in matching shifts (I still have them all and need to try them on Madeline). I still love wearing Lilly and love it even more now that I can twin in it with Madeline.
As I mentioned, I’m SO excited to share this Lilly look with y’all today as I’m it will be included in the sale. Here’s how I know! If you click through the link to both of our dresses, you’ll see it says that this item is no longer available. How is that possible? Just a week or so ago, my dress was available in every size!!! Well, usually within the week leading up to the sale, Lilly removes all of the inventory from the website that will be included in the After Party Sale. So the fact that it says our dresses are no longer available is actually a great thing! It just means that they are being held back for the sale and will be super on sale come Monday 🙂 I’m wearing the Mila Shift in the “Lobsters in Love” print and Madeline is wearing the Little Lilly Classic Shift in “Lobsters in Love” as well.
How The Sale Works:
The Lilly Pulitzer APS works by means of a virtual line. Don’t let this scare you as this is actually a blessing (it keeps the site from crashing!). When you enter the sale on Monday, do not freak out if you enter right at 8:00AM to see that you’re number 89,987 in line (this has happened to me many times). The good news is that line tends to move very quickly, and even when you get to shop there will still be lots of goodies to choose from. But remember, you must move quickly once you enter the sale, because things do sell out in the blink of an eye and just because something is in your shopping cart doesn’t mean it won’t sell out. Be sure to see my tips below, as this will help you prepare a game plan for shopping the sale 🙂
And lastly, it’s important to remember that all sales are final with the APS! So, know your size and know what you’re needing! You can also shop the sale as many times as you’d like. However, you will be placed back in the virtual line after checking out each time. Oh and remember, once you enter the sale and are placed in the virtual line, do not refresh the page! It will do that on its own for you once it’s your turn to enter. Refreshing only puts you to the back of the line.
As I’ve mentioned in the past, there is a method to shopping the APS. Things move so quickly. If you don’t shop with game plan, there’s a pretty good chance you just may go into full on panic mode haha and you loose your items. Next, I’m sharing my favorite tips and tricks to shopping the sale. Most of these are things you can do before hand that will help you tremendously when it comes time to shop. See them below:
My tips for shopping the sale:
Have your account set up ahead of time
If you don’t already have a Lilly Pulitzer account set up, head over to Lilly now and do so (you can set one up here). You must have an account set up before you can place an order. It takes a few minutes, and since items are literally flying off the site by the second, you want to be able to do as many things in advanced as possible. And even if you do already have one set up, go ahead and log in just to make sure that you remember your log in info. Also, while you’re already logging in on the site, make sure that your info (shipping, billing, payment) is correct and current. If you do these things ahead of time, literally all you’ll have to do for the order is click, click and click!
Shop Simultaneously
You can shop from as many devices as you choose to! Shop from your computer, your iPad, your iPhone, two computers, whatever! I always enter the sale from my computer right at 8, and I enter though my phone or iPad as well. So then whichever one I get through the sale to first, that’s the one I shop on!
Shop Fast
Remember not to waste time during this sale. Try to know what you want well in advanced. Look through your Lilly. Are you wanting some new shifts for next spring and summer? Are you wanting some cashmere cardigans for fall? Is there a certain print you’re wanting? Are you wanting some little shifts for your mini? Think about these things now, make a list and have a game plan for the sale. That way, when you enter the sale, you already have an idea of what you’re hoping to purchase. It allows you to shop fast! Items go in the blink of an eye, and nothing is “yours” until you hit “place order” so remember to make quick decisions. This leads to…
Shop Smart
I mentioned earlier that it’s important to know what you’re wanting, because all sales are final for this sale. Know what you’re looking to buy, and don’t buy just to buy. I have fallen guilty of that several times in the past and have wished that I could return some things, but that’s not possible with this sale. Set a budget of how much you’re willing to spend, if this helps you. It’s also important to know your sizing. You can check out Lilly’s sizing info here! Shop Throughout the Day
As I mentioned earlier, you can shop the sale as many times as you please. As the day goes on, the line pretty much diminishes. I always overlook items the first time that I shop the sale. New surprise piece are usually added throughout the two day span of the sale. Just another reason to shop it multiple times, right?! Remember To Be Gracious
I always remind myself that bottom line, it’s just a sale. Yes, it deserves tons of excitement, but if you don’t walk away getting everything you wanted, don’t be bummed. There will be other Lilly sales in the future. I also find it so disheartening when technical difficulties occur, which results in some unhappy Lilly lovers voicing their opinions. It’s so great that Lilly does this sale, so remember to remain respectful and be gracious that there’s an opportunity to get such amazing deals on Lilly.
