Hi friends and TGIF! I hope y’all have had an amazing week! It’s a pretty yucky day here today…lots of storms are coming through. But there’s something so peaceful about the sound of spring rain. I especially love waking up to it! But of course I love the sunshine most of all! I’m thinking all things bright and sunny with today’s look.
I’m so excited to be sharing the details on this adorable romper with y’all today. It’s no secret that I LOVE gingham! So much that I probably have more gingham than any other print in my closet. I have also been living in rompers this season! I know that I’ll continue to do so as the weather warms up even more. Rompers are such an easy piece to style. They really don’t require too much thought and are such a good throw-on-and-go option. This one is everything my romper dreams are made of haha! I adore the small gingham print, the tie at the waist and the ruffles on the sleeves. You can easily casual this one down with some flat sandals or mules and dress it up with heels, as I have it here. I love to style blue and white with pink accessories!
I hope y’all have an amazing weekend! It’s Easter weekend, one of my favorite weekends of the entire year! I love this weekend so much, because it’s a weekend full of fun, spring, family and most of all, remembering what our Savior did for us on the cross. I have been meditating on several portions of scripture this week, leading up to Easter. A few of them are Philippians 2:8, John 3:16 and Deuteronomy 29:6, just to name a few.
With Philippians 2:8, I couldn’t help but focus on these words: “…he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even death on the cross.” I mean WOW! What an ultimate example of love and sacrifice. To think that the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who is worthy of ALL our praise, not only became obedient to dying for us, but death on the cross, the most horrific death imaginable. During the sermon last Sunday, our Paster spoke on some of the details of death on the cross. And goodness I couldn’t help but cringe, basically feeling sick to out stomach. Then I turned that thought into realizing how much love was poured out on the cross, for you and me! Oh what a loving Savior we serve, a risen Savior! And what an encouragement to me this is to have a servants heart, be ready to serve others as a way showing the love of Jesus to others.
With John 3:16, I always love to focus on this verse every Easter. It’s especially special to me this year, because Madeline has memorized this one. I absolutely love to hear her recite and teach her of the meaning of this verse. Again, God loves us SO much, that he gave his only Son to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Such a display of love. I think about a parent’s love for their child, and can’t help but relate it to the Lord’s love for us.
And one other to mention is Deuteronomy 29:6. “…and I [the Lord] did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.” I have been studying Deuteronomy and the Israelites. Again, the end of this verse truly struck me and had me doing a lot of thinking, meditating on things that have happened in my life. I was thinking back on especially the past several years and it truly is amazing to be able to look back on past life events, things that (at the time) may not have seemed all that wonderful. But now when I look back and can see pieces of the puzzle fitting together, all I can say is WOW, Lord! That was nothing but the work of your loving hand, and give Him thanks. I truly believe that it’s so important to walk through life, holding the hand of our loving Savior ever so tightly, trusting in Him every step of the way. And when we look back on the Lord’s work in our lives, we can see things that have happened, see the Lord’s protection over us and say “Lord, you did this so that I may know that YOU are the Lord my God”, just as he did with the Israelites. And how does this tie into Easter? Well, I know that day when the Lord was crucified and darkness fell over the entire earth, there was so much sorrow, but then death was conquered! Just as the Lord promised with His loving plan for us. We serve a risen Savior, and I can’t help but say, “Lord, I know that you are the Lord my God.”
I hope y’all have an amazing Easter weekend!
Delightfully Yours,
